Environmental Health
Specialist are responsible for implementing program activities related to the
protection of the environment and the public health and safety of residents
through permit, inspection, education, consultation, planning, investigation
and enforcement activities. One of their responsibilities is to see if
there is an existence of any health hazards and to take care of them and
correct them. Some of the places that an Environmental Health Specialist works
in are with government agencies, state, and federal safety. They check plants
and factories for pollution or industrial waste. They also inspect restaurants
for cleanliness; inspect schools and nursing home to make sure that there is no
harmful substances.

Salary: $37,300 - $57,551
Education
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree is required with a minimum of 30 semester units of approved basic
science courses including approved coursework in biology, general chemistry, organic
chemistry or physics, microbiology, and college algebra or calculus.
