A pharmacist is responsible to compound and prepare prescriptions written by physicians, dentist, and other practitioners. They must review the prescriptions to validate their accuracy and to prepare the medication. The compounds have to be prepared so that the pharmacist can then dispense them to the customers and patients. They also answer questions to patients and costumers, about the drugs they're selling and the ones that can be sold over the counter. Pharmacist work in hospitals, clinics, health departments, universities, and grocery, drug and discount stores.
Salary: $33,000 - $51,000
Education:
Students should take the most challenging high school classes available in English, science, and math. All pharmacists must graduate from a college of pharmacy. Most pharmacy schools require applicants to take the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (P-CAT), and some require up to two years of pre-pharmacy education. Other colleges will admit students directly from high school. Normally it takes at least five years to earn a Pharmacy Degree.
Reflection: I don't think i will consider myself a pharmacist. It doesn't really catch my attention in becoming one.
