Pharmacy Technician

Duties & Responsibilities:
A pharmacy technician works in pharmacies under the directions of a pharmacist. They are responsible for filling prescriptions to patient that are ordered by doctors. They measure the correct amount of medication from large containers to prescription size containers. Other duties they have are checking inventories and ordering supplies, receiving and checking in supplies, waiting on customers, keeping pharmacy work areas clean and helping filling out insurance forms.
Salary: $15,000 - $25,000
Education:
To become a pharmacy technician while you are in high school you should take math, science (especially chemistry), and some typing courses in high school. A high school diploma is usually required to begin pharmacy technician training.  Two year courses leading to certificates are available at most community collages.  Six month programs are offered at privately operated schools.

Reflection:

I don’t think I would like to become a pharmacy technician because it doesn’t catch my attention in becoming one. I don’t really think it is interesting becoming a pharmacy technician.
